From the makers of the critically acclaimed documentary “The Old, The Young and The Sea” comes “Beyond - An African Surf Documentary” - a film that follows locals along the coast of Morocco, Western Sahara, Mauritania, Senegal and Gambia into their homes, visits their surf spots and takes a look into their surfing lives.
The crew explored some of the most isolated coastlines in the world and delved into the lives of people trying to find ways to adapt to the harshness of their respective environments while pursuing personal fulfillment and the conflict that can ensue when 21st century ambitions collide with time honored traditions.
Three months of shooting culminated in a 111 minute long episodic journey on a continent, that has the potential to be the next big thing in surfing.
