Southern Guild Gallery (Cape Town)

Since its foundation in 2008, the South African based gallery has set out to act as a platform for locally made art and design and to "redefine global perceptions of African design." In 2011 it became the first African gallery to show at Design Miami, and in 2015 it was the first to be displayed at Christie's London annual design auction. Southern Guild has also had collections included in numerous renowned institutions including the Vitra Design Museum’s “Making Africa” exhibition and “Beauty–Cooper Hewitt Design Triennial” at the Cooper Hewitt, Smithsonian Design Museum in New York.
